Normally, medical treatment of obesity, such as administering diet tablets, begins with weight loss treatment of four weeks, together with a suitable fitness program. In case the above plan does not show success to achieve a mean weight reduction of 0.5kg/week ( roughly one pound/week) then drug treatment might be appropriate. Influenza, underlying hormonal or metabolic conditions should be crossed out prior to starting drug therapy.
